Professional Development

Workshops designed to engage teachers through arts-integrated learning techniques.

Critical Eye

Critical Eye is a professional development workshop designed for educators bringing students to see a play at Hartford Stage. Participants gain insight into the production and explore ideas for using the play as a launching point in the classroom open to teachers at all levels, including college.

Teacher’s Toolbox

Teacher’s Toolbox is a series of professional development workshops designed to equip teachers with tools for arts-integrated learning. Workshop topics include tableau, dialogue, teacher-in-role, playwriting, improv/ensemble-building, and theatre games. Individual workshops can range from 1-6 hours and can be held at your school or in the Hartford Stage Education Center.

Classroom Residencies

Classroom residencies pair a teacher with a Hartford Stage teaching artist to model arts-integration strategies in the classroom. For more information, call 860-520-7244.
