Every year, we invite student playwrights to develop their own 10-minute plays at Hartford Stage. Winners of the Write On Competition work with a professional playwright to polish their script and see professional actors perform their play as part of Hartford Stage's annual Brand:NEW Fall Festival of New Work.
Send us your idea for a 10-minute play inspired by this year's theme. Include characters, setting, and as much of the story as you can - beginning, middle and end. If your idea is chosen, we'll help with the rest.
This year's theme is:
What stories can be found at the end of the tunnel?
Stories found in the dark...
Stories of escape...
What happens when an exit is blocked?
What mysteries hide behind that door?
Write On is open to all Connecticut residents who will be enrolled in high school (must be in grades 9-12) in the 2010-2011 school year. You may enter as many times as you wish, but please, only one idea per entry form. Entries may be in English or Spanish.
