Q: Where do I park?

Elizabeth Ashley and Alyssa Bresnahan in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Photo by T. Charles Erickson. You can park on the streets for free after 6 during the week and all day during the weekends. You can also park in the MAT garage next door. We sell vouchers for $6.50 which get you out of the garage faster. However, we do not offer any discounted parking rates.

Q: Can you recommend a good place to eat before the show?

Please see our list of area restaurant partners

Q: What should I wear?

Business casual, feel free to dress up or down. It is often cold in the theatre, so you may want to consider wearing a sweater.

Q: Is there an elevator?

No, we do not currently have an elevator

Q: May I exchange my tickets for another performance?

Yes, if you are a Hartford Stage subscriber. Here's how:

• Bring your unused tickets to the Box Office at 50 Church St.
• Mail your unused tickets to us at least one week in advance of the performance.
• Fax a photocopy of your cut-up tickets to 860-247-8243 at least one hour prior to your scheduled performance.

The Box Office will place you in seats most comparable to your original ones, unless otherwise specified by you. Tickets may not be exchanged from one production to another or into extension performances. Tickets exchanges may not be processed over the telephone. If you exchange tickets for a more expensive performance, you pay the difference in ticket price. Please note: there is a $5 per-ticket fee for exchanges within 24 hours of your scheduled performance.

We’re sorry, but we cannot make exchanges or refunds on single ticket (non-subscriber) purchases.

Q: For a subscriber exchange, do I have to rip my tickets in half and fax them to you?

No, we now offer ticket-less exchanges over the phone for your convenience!

Q: What are rush tickets?

Rush tickets are tickets offered at 1/2 price, 2 hours prior to the show at the window.

Q: Do you offer a senior discount?

Seniors, 65 and over, can purchase tickets the day of the performance for half price. Seniors who purchase tickets over the phone are subject to a $4.50 per ticket service charge.

EZ tickets are tickets offered in 4 packs, $45 apiece with a one time processing fee of $6.00= $186.00. They can be used for any show, the best seating available!

Q: How much are your tickets?

Tickets range anywhere from $64-$10 depending on when you come and where you sit. Ticket prices range according to when you attend and where you sit. Tickets prices for the week of Previews (the first week of each production) are $23, $33, $42, and $50.

Q: How large is your theater?

It holds 489 seats. It is stadium seating in the shape of a horseshoe (thrust stage). The stage is a 3/4 Thrust so the audience wraps around the stage and the actors are not on a raised stage they are almost always flush with the floor.

Q: Where are the best seats?

There really isn't a bad seat in the house due to our unique shape. However, some people prefer the center seating to the side seating.

Q: What are the Box office hours?

Daily 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m. On performance nights we are open until curtain time.

Q: Can I bring my child to the show?

A Christmas Carol is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Please check the individual show pages for shows that may contain mature subject matter.

Q: Will a performance be cancelled if there is a snowstorm?

Performance cancellations due to weather are subject to State of Connecticut mandates about road closures. If the governor officially declares the state highways closed, only then will a performance be cancelled.
