Running time: 2 hours, 20 minutes. There will be one intermission.

One storm rages on the sea. Another storm rages inside of a man. Will Prospero, the banished Duke of Milan, exact his revenge or forgive his foes? Shakespeare’s magnificent last play is a meditation on family, love, mercy, and—ultimately—the theatre itself.

With wonder, imagination and sheer theatricality, this powerful production will take you on a breathtaking journey filled with song, dance, masks and puppetry.

Brilliant performances, choreography superb, musical component drew audience into the magic of the play.

This is one of the best performances of The Tempest I have ever seen. The acting was superb. Daniel Davis as Prospero was a perfect choice. Ben Cole as Caliban was outstanding! All performers were very strong. The sets were fantastic, especially the “script design” on the costumes and stage. It was very pleasing to the eye and gave the production a lavish appeal. I intend to come and see this production again at least one more time!

The set design and costuming added incredibly to this production, as did the remarkable dance sequence and gymnastic feats. Use of billowing cloth outstanding. Casting perfect!

The aerialist was amazing!! –the most memorable aspect of the play; never saw anything like it.

This was simply an extraordinary production and performance.

This play was Shakespeare at its best!!!!!! It would be terrific to see more than once.

Bravo! We, my husband and I, thought the performance was spectacular! One of the best we have seen at Hartford Stage! It all came together–the direction, script, acting, costumes, set, lighting, and sound. The entire experience was very moving and passionate.

The acting, the set, the acrobatics…..like nothing I have seen before.

A riveting and memorable production.

I thought that the Tempest was the best show I have ever seen. I also loved the ballet and acrobat performance. Wonderful.

Loved the combination of ballet and cirque du soleil.

The acting and the scenography were outstanding!

Direction was faultless and acting superb.

This was a truly extraordinary production!
