Internship skills are highly transferable. Learn office, business, and administrative skills in a fun and creative environment to prepare for a career in the theater, non-profit, or commercial industry.
|
The primary focus of an internship is educational. An intern gains instruction or training, learning fundamentals of the profession and applying that knowledge and skill in a highly supervised practical situation. It is expected that the intern has an educational background in theatre or a relevant area. Internship responsibilities are determined by the needs of the department and the individual experience of each intern. Interns rarely receive stipend or salary, but may arrange for college credit.
"My girlfriend and I both did Internships at the same time. I was at Hartford Stage and she was at a large jewelry corporation. I would come home excited every day about the people I worked with and the meaningful projects I tackled and she spent her entire internship making copies and stringing beads. My experience at Hartford Stage enabled me to move directly into a great job in the Public Relations office at Mohegan Sun.” - Greg Romeyn, former Marketing Intern
