When Love is a Crime.

A black man and a white woman meet after-hours, in a shadowy library, to make love and to talk, hiding from the venomous gaze of a never-seen but ever-present neighbor. Written in 1972, set against the background of apartheid, Statements is a masterpiece by Athol Fugard, one of the great poets of the stage.
