Draper

The nationally recognized Hartford Stage (LORT B) in Hartford, CT. seeks experienced and creative individual for Draper position. Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • 5 + years professional experience.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Exemplary organizational capabilities, strong critical/creative problem solving.
  • Supervisory experience, good communication and interpersonal abilities; team oriented.
  • Expertise in dressmaking and men’s tailoring- covering period and contemporary.
  • Expertise in pattern drafting, draping, quick rigging- covering period and contemporary.
  • Working knowledge in industrial and domestic sewing machines, sergers, industrial irons and other pertinent tools.
  • Knowledge of best practice for various fabrics.
  • Knowledge of costume and theatre history.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Costume Crafts Artisan

The nationally recognized Hartford Stage (LORT B) in Hartford, CT. seeks experienced and creative individual for Costume Crafts Artisan for the upcoming 2018-19 Season.

Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Expertise in fabric modification- painting, dying and distressing.
  • Expertise in Millinery.
  • Proficiency in Leatherwork.
  • Proficiency in fabrication and alteration of masks.
  • Proficiency in fabrication and alteration of armor.
  • Proficiency in fabrication and alterations of jewelry.
  • Proficiency in shoe repair and modification.
  • Knowledge of best practice for modern tools including adhesives, plastics.

Desired applicant should also have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, strong critical/creative problem solving skills, and would thrive in a fast paced environment. Manager of Major Gifts and Planned Giving

Tony award-winning HARTFORD STAGE seeks a full-time Manager of Major Gifts and Planned Giving to manage the organizational efforts to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts to the annual fund. In addition, they will help to plan and implement a pending endowment and advancement campaign. This position also will have primary responsibility for expanding the Shakespeare Society, a planned giving circle, through cultivation and stewardship activities. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have exceptional communication skills, and demonstrated success working with major individual donors. Knowledge of the arts and the Greater Hartford philanthropic community a plus. Candidates must possess an Associate’s degree or beyond, and at least three years fundraising/administrative experience; attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, the desire to grow in the field of development and interest in regional theatre. Tessitura Specialist and Database Administrator

Tony Award-winning Hartford Stage seeks a full-time Tessitura Specialist and Database Administrator to oversee all facets of the ticketing and fundraising database, Tessitura. Primary responsibilities include building events and performances, creating reports, generating mailing lists, and responding to research and support requests. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience in database management, preferably working with Tessitura. Box Office Representative

Tony Award-winning Hartford Stage is seeking a seasonal part-time Box Office Representative. Reporting to the Box Office Supervisor and/or Box Office Manager, the Representative’s primary responsibilities include assisting Hartford Stage patrons with purchasing single tickets and subscriptions over the phone, in person, and acting as a representative of the Box Office during performances. Candidate should have 1-2 years of customer service experience, excellent telephone demeanor, and the ability to respond gracefully in high pressure situations. Multitasking and attention to detail are also crucial. Applicant must be comfortable working with a computerized ticketing system (experience with Tessitura is a plus), and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Technicians

Tony award winning Hartford Stage is seeking experienced Technicians for various Run Crew positions. Applicants should have previous professional back stage experience, programing or audio experience a plus. Must be able to lift heavy equipment and scenery, and be comfortable working on ladders and elevated platforms. Responsibilities include stage rigging, scenery shifting, operating spot light, props tracking, and scene shop carpentry. Employment is on a per show basis. Pay is hourly with overtime paid after 40 hours.
