Overhire Stitcher

The nationally recognized Hartford Stage (LORT B) seeks experienced Over-hire Stitcher to remount yearly production of A Christmas Carol. Dates: 10/21 – 11/29 (off Thanksgiving and surrounding dates are negotiable) Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Positive and collaborative attitude
  • Expertise with industrial and domestic sewing machines, sergers, industrial irons and other pertinent tools.
  • Experience in constructing period and modern garments
  • Able to quickly and accurately alter period and modern garments
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to pass general background check

$14.50 Hourly pay with overtime compensation after 40 hours.  Housing not provided.

Subscriptions & Group Sales Manager

Tony Award-winning Hartford Stage seeks a full-time Subscriptions and Group Sales Manager to manage and report on all facets of subscriber services and manage group sales for all shows. Primary responsibilities include teaching and engendering superior customer relations skills to the customer service representatives; leading the administration of subscription packages in the box office software; and promoting Hartford Stage to the tourism community. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in a performing arts box office, preferably working with Tessitura. Graphic Designer

Tony Award-winning Hartford Stage seeks a full-time Graphic Designer to work with the marketing team to design and develop creative materials with the goal of furthering the institutional brand, promoting the theatre, and supporting ticket sales, fundraising and education. Wardrobe Run Crew

Required skills include:

  • Wig and facial hair application and basic styling. – maintenance will be done by supervisor

  • Costume cleaning and maintenance

Props Artisan – Overhire

Hartford Stage is seeking an experienced, talented, self-motivated Overhire Props Artisan as needed for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season.  Qualified individual will have an understanding of basic scenery design and period styles, properties construction and artisan experience, including: furniture carpentry, upholstery, sewing, casting and molding, and scenic/prop painting, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Photoshop. Strong preference for carpentry experience. Box Office Supervisor

Tony Award-winning Hartford Stage is seeking a part-time Box Office Supervisor. Reporting to the Box Office Manager, theSupervisor’s primary responsibilities include assisting Hartford Stage patrons with purchasing single tickets and subscriptions over the phone, in person, and acting as a manager on duty in the absence of the Box Office Manager and/or Subscriptions Manager, including making managerial decisions, and completing nightly deposits. Candidate should have 1-2 years experience in customer service (supervisory experience is a plus), excellent telephone demeanor, and the ability to respond gracefully in high pressure situations. Multitasking and attention to detail are also crucial. Applicant must be comfortable working with a computerized ticketing system (experience with Tessitura is a plus), and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Technicians

Tony award winning Hartford Stage is seeking experienced Technicians for various Run Crew positions. Applicants should have previous professional back stage experience, programing or audio experience a plus. Must be able to lift heavy equipment and scenery, and be comfortable working on ladders and elevated platforms. Responsibilities include stage rigging, scenery shifting, operating spot light, props tracking, and scene shop carpentry. Employment is on a per show basis. Pay is hourly with overtime paid after 40 hours.
