Acclaimed in London for its nerve-shredding tension and striking contemporary lens, Morgan Lloyd Malcom’s adaptation strips the myth to its psychological core. Directed by Jackson Gay, returning to Hartford Stage after her thrilling production of The Mousetrap, this visceral reimagining arrives in October just in time for fall frights, delivering suspense, psychological intensity, and electrifying theatrical horror.

Dead Girl's Quinceañera

It’s note just a party–it’s a puzzle. Dead Girl’s Quinceañera is a darkly hilarious take on true-crime obsession, teenage bravado, and what happens when girls decide to stop waiting for answers.
Fueled by podcasts, procedurals, and unchecked confidence, three teens race to solve the mystery of their vanished friend by interrogating suspects, inventing theories, and roasting each other along the way.
Making its collective world premiere this season, Dead Girl’s Quinceañera is directed by Melia Bensussen, who has been working closely with playwright Phanésia Pharel for over a eyar to bring this play to life. Set in present-day Miami, this fresh, funny, and impossible-to-forget new play will spark conversation long after the mystery is solved.
