Our after school / extended day learning has programming designed to fit your students’ skill levels and your program requirements.

Full Production
Let Hartford Stage direct your next school play! A Hartford Stage teaching artist/director will come to your school and lead your students through the entire production process, from auditions to performance.
DETAILS
- Most Full Production projects last 8-10 weeks
- Students meet 2-4 times a week.
- A pre-production planning meeting between the teaching artist/director and school representative is required.
Process-Based Presentation
Process-Based Presentation projects focus on the process of creating a script or performance piece and culminate in an informal presentation open to the school community. Possible projects include a student-devised work, staff-written script, adaptation of a fairy/folk tale, short silent film, or improv performance.

- Most Process-Based Presentation projects last 4-6 weeks
- Students meet 2-4 times a week and use minimal props and costumes.
- A pre-production planning meeting between the teaching artist and school representative is required.
Skills-Building Class
Skill-Building Classes are designed to hone a specific skill or set of skills. These sessions are scheduled by the hour and can be used to introduce theatre skills, enhance literacy skills, or build an ensemble.

Master Class
A Master Class is a one-time intensive workshop with a Hartford Stage teaching artists to explore a specific theatre topic in depth.
