Stage One at Hartford Stage provides young adults in the Greater Hartford area with the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and deepen their appreciation for the arts. Participants gain real-world experience advocating for theater and fostering connections within their communities, becoming empowered ambassadors for Hartford Stage and its mission.

Stage One membership is a three-year term.

Members are expected to attend full board meetings (5 per year), Stage One events and meetings, and between 4-5 committee meetings annually. In addition, we expect all Stage One members to attend our productions throughout the season.

• Leadership & reliability
• Willingness to learn and engage
• Respectful of board and artistic leadership
• In the Millennial or Generation Z age bracket

Responsibilities: 

• Participation on one Board Committee throughout season
  (4+ meetings per season)
• Participation in Full Board Meetings (5 meetings per season)
• Participation in Stage One Meetings and planning/attending of events
• Become a Stage Pass Member ($100, 6-play subscription) or Subscriber
• Make a yearly contribution to the Annual Fund
• Build awareness for Hartford Stage programs among peer groups
• Serve an initial three-year term
