Teens will rehearse and perform in a full production of Urinetown, which will be performed on the Hartford Stage Main Stage in downtown Hartford. Students will spend time rehearsing and taking part in enriching theatre craft classes. Additionally, students will take a trip to New York to see the Broadway show, The Wiz.

Technical Theater Track

July 8 – August 2, 2024 (With some performances taking place outside of regular hours. Crew positions determine schedules.)

In this new program, students will spend their mornings working with members of the Hartford Stage Technical Theater staff learning about various elements of backstage craft, including sets, props, costumes, lighting and sound. Students will also take part in enriching theatre craft classes. Students will have the opportunity to assist with crew for our performances throughout the program in our Children’s Cast, One Act, Junior Troupe and Youth Ensemble programs, and will take a trip to New York to see the Broadway show, The Wiz.

Youth Ensemble featuring Anastasia: Youth Edition

Students will rehearse and perform in a production of Willy Wonka Kids. Students will split their time between rehearsing and taking part in classes in acting, movement and other theatre skills.

Spend the week with us creating a performance based on books selected from current summer reading lists. Students will use stories, music and fun theatre activities to create a final share performance.
For Ages 5-8
Children’s Cast
Ages 5-8 * Please note: to be eligible for the Children’s Cast, students must have completed Kindergarten. Students will be split into groups based on age – most generally the groups break down to 5-6 and 7-8.
Session 1: July 8 – 19, 2024
Session 2: July 22 – August 2, 2024
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
$700 per session (2 weeks); $1,350 for both (4 weeks)
Students will take classes in story theatre, creative movement, music, puppetry, and arts and crafts. Each session ends in a mini-production that the cast creates based on favorite stories and characters.

Day Dreamers
Ages 3-5 * Please note: our Day Dreamers program is for Pre K students only. To be eligible, students must be potty trained.
