How to Give
There are many ways that you can make a gift to support the work of Hartford Stage. The easiest way to make a gift now is online with your credit card. Additional ways to give include:
Gifts of Cash
A simple way to make your gift is to write a check to Hartford Stage. You may be entitled to an income tax deduction for your gift, and we will use your gift to support our productions, educations programs, and outreach.
If you work for a company that has a matching gift program, you may be able to double your gift to us – without any cost to you. Please contact your employer’s Human Resources Department to obtain a matching gift form.
Gifts of Appreciated Marketable Securities
Gifts of appreciated stock that you have owned for more than one year may provide important tax benefits. Please make sure to consult with your accountant and financial planner for their advice. For information about how to contribute appreciated stock, please contact the Development Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are many vehicles for making a gift beyond cash and securities. Many choose to put Hartford Stage in their will and become a member of the Shakespeare Society, which recognizes those who have made and documented a planned gift. In addition, gifts of life insurance, retirement plan assets, and other life income gifts are other ways to generously support our work. To learn more, please contact the Director of Development, Antay Bilgutay, at email@example.com.
For information about tax benefits and other financial planning questions, Hartford Stage strongly recommends consulting with a qualified professional to assist you in your giving.
Name a Seat
Gifts of $2,500 to support capital improvements to the John W. Huntington theater will be recognized with a plaque on one of the theatre seats and are 100% tax deductible. Naming a seat is a way not only to leave your own personal imprint on Hartford Stage but also to honor an organization, memorialize a loved one, or distinguish your business. To discuss plaque location and availability, please contact our Individual Giving Associate, Pete Carey at firstname.lastname@example.org or 860-520-7258.<
In Kind Gifts
In addition to cash gifts, Hartford Stage accepts in kind contributions of goods* or services.
*Please note that Hartford Stage has a vast costume and properties stock, but limited space. Therefore at this time we cannot accept any donations of costumes or props directly through the box office or our shops. If you would like to make a donation of this kind, please email the Development Office at email@example.com with an itemized list including description, current condition and estimated value of your donation along with digital photographs. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and generosity!
